Feelin' Blue

Cap - Supreme
Jeans - Vintage Levis
Trainers - Vans Old Skool

Following from my trip to London earlier this week, I thought I'd give you guys a look at some of my latest pick ups (especially my delicious new shirt).

Me and my cousin headed out for a few hours to shoot some new photos and I think these came out pretty awesome! The blues and yellows are so aesthetically pleasing and the backdrops sit so nicely with my cap and shirt which I had for my birthday.

I picked up my t shirt a few months ago but I also copped another design from the collection whilst in London. I like a lot of KAWS' work and I was put onto the artist after he designed the bottle for Pharrell's fragrance. As for the jeans, I managed to snap these up for just £8 from Urban Renewal at Urban Outfitters (I am a bargain king).

I think in pretty much every outfit post I do, I'm wearing Old Skool Vans (specifically this colourway) but they are definitely my favourite sneaker and I can see myself wearing these until the day I die.

Head over to my Instagram for regular updates and also check out my cousins photography page

Turning 25 In London

I'm not usually one to celebrate or make a big fuss of my birthday and with my girlfriend being on holiday and all my friends in work I decided to take a trip by myself to London, just to get out of Cardiff for a few hours. I caught the 6:20am Megabus (ridiculously early I know) and arrived by 10am. I've been to London a fair few times so I stayed clear of tourist spots like Buckingham Palace and the London Eye because once you've seen them once, you don't need to see them again right??

So instead I headed to some new spots and a few places I like to go whenever I'm in the capital. My first stop was Dover Street Market, somewhere I've wanted to go for a long time. It's a fashion and retail concept store which also has an art gallery and was created by Rei Kawakubo of Comme Des Garçons. It houses brands such as Raf Simons, Christopher Kane and of course Comme Des Garçons.  I was debating whether to buy a pair of Comme Des Garcons Converse but I decided against it and instead ended up buying a Supreme cap and a Uniqlo x KAWS tee. Nevertheless it's an amazing space to check out garments by designers that I usually wouldn't get to see.

I also spent some time in Shoreditch to fill my hipster shaped needs. There's an array of vintage and concept stores on Brick Lane as well as having pop up stores in Old Truman Brewery, one of which was an All Saints sample sale. I treated myself to a couple of pints as well as a bagel from Beigel Bake, following a recommendation from Action Bronson!

Soho is always a place I like to check out as there's always so much going on. Chinatown, Palace Skateboards and Supreme are places I always like to explore and I highly recommend having bubble tea from Bubbleology and pork buns from one of the many food spots in Chinatown.

I ended up taking a lot of photos in just a few hours, below are a few. I think I'm definitely destined to move to London eventually, I hope it's just a matter of time!

How To Style: Polo Shirts

The classic polo shirt has long been a part of British style, and is often spotted on the golf course or the tennis court. René Lacoste and Fred Perry are both pioneers in taking the polo from the court to the fashion world and their legacy lives on still to this day, with polo shirts still being as fashionable as ever. So I was delighted when I was approached by JD Williams & Jacamo to put together a post on how to wear a polo shirt! I was kindly gifted two Fila polo shirts from Jacamo and below I've styled them in casual and smart casual outfits. I've also put together two more outfits with Vivienne Westwood polos to add a bit of variety which gives you guys a chance to see how I would style their famous Krall silhouette.

Smart Casual

My first outfit sees me put together the Fila pinstripe polo with a pair of Classic Navy Tartan trousers from Vivienne Westwood. Tucking in the polo gives the outfit more of a formal feel and is finished off with a VW buckle belt. I added a burgundy Harrington jacket to finish, which I feel would be perfect for nights at the pub or for days at the football!

For the second smart casual outfit I wore a white Vivienne Westwood Krall polo with a pair of dogtooth prints trousers from Zara's AW15 collection. I bought these trousers last year and haven't really utilised them but after putting this outfit together I think I'll start to wear them more often. My burgundy Topman loafers bring the outfit together along with my Mac coat from New Look. I think burgundy and brown as a colour scheme really work well together and I can see this outfit becoming a regular in the winter.

Casual

I think it's safe to say casual wear is 100% my forte. It's not very often you'll see me wearing smart clothes so I enjoyed putting these two outfits together.

Again I used a pinstripe Fila polo but this time I used the blue colourway. Blue is so perfect for this time of year and especially this shade because it's so radiant. I threw on a pair of slim black chinos from H&M and a pair of adidas Gazelle's to make this outfit pop. Gazelle's are undoubtedly one of the greatest silhouettes to have ever been made and were worn religiously in the 80's and are a huge part of terrace culture, as were Fila polo shirts so it only seemed right to team them up! For the colder months I would add a wool overcoat, like the one I have from Topman

My last outfit saw me wear another Vivienne Westwood Krall polo shirt with floral detail. I have worn this polo to death at work, but it still has a lot of wear in it which goes to show how important good quality clothing is. I added these navy River Island chinos and a grandfather style cardigan from American Apparel. I'm aware that a lot of people don't wear navy and black together because apparently it doesn't work, but that's nonsense! To finish I wore adidas Stan Smith's which need no explanation as they are one of the cleanest sneakers on the market.

Once again, thanks to the guys at JD Williams & Jacamo for allowing me collaborate with them and if you guys would like to see how I'd style other items of clothing, just let me know and I'll give it a go!

Distressed Double Denim

Denim Jacket - Levis (Self distressed)
T Shirt - Golf Wang
Jeans - H&M
Sneakers - Nike

I think it's safe to say the age old rule of no double denim is over. With the likes of Kanye West and Andre 3000 sporting the so called 'fashion faux pas' in recent years it has allowed us common folk to have a pop at a look that has been dubbed 'The Canadian Tuxedo.'

I've previously spoken about the denim jacket that I'm wearing here but it has made another appearance because I find that there's nothing easier than completing an outfit with an easy denim jacket, right?

My t shirt is tour merch from Tyler, The Creator's and A$AP Rocky's joint tour last year. Due to Tyler not being allowed in the UK, I had to settle for just a t shirt on this occasion. I've seen Tyler live 5 times and it's such a shame that the government has dubbed him as a threat to our country. Hopefully things change soon!

These grey jeans are so perfect for this time of year! If, like me you don't really like to wear shorts (my legs are so skinny), then I'd suggest investing in a pair of straight leg distressed jeans. Although they're heavyweight they're not as annoying as you'd expect in our recent heat.

These trainers have been on my wish list for three whole years. As soon as it came out in 2013 it was one of the most desirable silhouettes in Nike SB history and when I found out they were getting a rerelease, I had to stump up the cash to get my hands on a pair. The Stefan Janoski Digi Floral sees a mix of camo print and a pixelated, digital floral print infused to form a unique print. I'm so happy to have finally copped these, and they're perfect for my current obsession with pink!

20 Songs For Summer

There's nothing better than being sat in the sun with a cold beer in your hand, and listening to great music. So I thought I'd compile a lovely new playlist to see us through this (rare) British heatwave.

Just from reading my previous posts I don't need to explain my love for Anderson. Paak, but Without You is definitely a summer tune! Chance The Rapper is now one of the hottest artists on the planet at the moment and with the help of Justin Bieber, he's made a huge anthem with Juke Jam. Schoolboy Q's new album Blank Face has got major G Funk feels to it, and Dope Dealer features West Coast legend E-40 and was produced by Metro Boomin which means only one thing: banger

The rest of my chosen tracks are some of my favourite summer tracks, especially Good Life which is my go to song whenever I need a pick up! Run To The Sun is definitely in my top 3 songs of all time and as we all know, Pharrell is my God and he can do no wrong.

Be sure to follow my playlist via Spotify.

Pink Trousers & Iced Coffee

T shirt - Supreme
Trousers- Asos
Sneakers - adidas

Happy Sunday y'all! After the longest of weeks I'm so happy to finally have a day off work where I can be productive and get all of my tasks done. I'm currently sat in Coffee Barker which can only be described as the nicest coffee shop in Cardiff and the iced caramel coffee is to die for! It's definitely perked me up for the rest of the day.

Let's talk about those trousers though! After seeing them on Twitter at 10pm on Friday I had to order them from ASOS and by 10:30 my confirmation email had come through. I've tried to be careful with money this month with my birthday coming up and hopefully a trip to London but I just had to own these. I've become obsessed with pink as of late and they were in my hands by 11am on Saturday. Shout outs to ASOS for their unspeakably quick deliveries too!

With the trousers being the focal point of my outfit, I had to keep everything else simple. So what could be more simple than my Morrissey Supreme tee and a pair of adidas Stan Smith's? I picked up my Supreme tee from a reseller in The Basement on Facebook as I was unable to cop it from the initial drop (which really upset me) but now it's in my wardrobe it's definitely one of my favourite pieces. My Stan Smith's have been worn to death and are pretty beat but they're one of the greatest sneakers ever made so I'm reluctant to show them the bin!

I'm trying to stay active on my blog as much as possible but if you want to keep up to date with everything head over to my Twitter & Instagram pages.

Outfit Of The Day 15/07/16

Jacket - Vintage Levis (distressed by myself)
Tee - SCRT
Chinos - Topman Ltd (Similar here)
Socks - H&M
Shoes - Dr Martens

Another day another outfit! I've been trying to put more effort into my blog lately and I find Outfit Of The Day posts can be quite constructive so hopefully I'll be adding more and more as times goes on (if my wardrobe allows me to!)

I'm a huge fan of denim jackets so I was delighted when I managed to pick up this vintage Levis piece from a car boot sale for just £5. Admittedly it was in horrible condition at first because it was owned by a builder who wore it to work, but it was nothing that the washing machine couldn't sort out. I decided to spruce it up a bit not so long ago by adding a few rips and tears by using some scissors and a bloody cheese grater! I'm really happy with how it came out but I constantly have urges to distress it even more, but I shall leave it for now I think.

My tee came from the guys over at SCRT who are a forward thinking brand from London and have been around since 2010. Their original concepts have always caught my eye and I couldn't resist their Louis Theroux tee, especially after going on numerous Netflix binges. The tee retails at £28 but I was lucky enough to have a discount code giving me 15% off.

Not to sound like a typical fashion blogger but Dr Martens are a must for everybody's shoe collection. The 1461 silhouette is undeniably a classic and they're the embodiment of everything that the brand stands for: hard wearing, durable and amazing quality. I've also had my eyes on the Cherry Red colourway for years but I decided on the classic black to ease me into the Dr Martens club. In the future I'd like to own a pair of these Adrian Arcadia loafers or perhaps this similar offering from Fred Perry.

If you'd like to keep up with what I'm wearing on a daily basis head over to my Instagram and give me a follow!

Five acts to see at Reading Festival 2016

Since 2012 Reading Festival has been an integral part of my summer plans but due to lack of money and poor organisational skills I'm unable to attend this year and I am gutted! After seeing some of my all time favourite artists such as Eminem, Johnny Marr, Odd Future, Kendrick Lamar, The Libertines and Bombay Bicycle Club over the years, I'll always be grateful to the festival for giving me memories I'll never forget.

So the best thing I can do this year is at least suggest some artists for the lucky crowd to go and see this year, right?!

I'm not going to recommend the headliners to you guys because it's pretty obvious that they'll blow your socks off even without my recommendation.

My first must see artist from this years line up definitely has to be Anderson. Paak & The Free Nationals. I first heard about Anderson. Paak when he appeared on Jonwayne's track Green Light and I knew instantly he would be someone to watch. His voice is something like I'd never heard before and I was so happy when he had a major part to play on Dr Dre's album Compton in 2015. His solo album Malibu came out in January this year and is a real contender for album of the year, even with releases from Chance The Rapper and Kanye West. Definitely go check out his set on the BBC Radio 1xtra stage on Saturday.

Also playing on the Saturday at Reading Festival are the three piece girl band HAIM. The three sisters shot to fame with their album Days Are Gone and have played sets at prestigious festivals such as Coachella and Glastonbury as well as appearing at Reading back in 2013. They're currently working on the follow up album to Days Are Gone and it's definitely something I'll be keeping an eye out for!

Kicking off the festivals festivities on Friday are The Internet. As a side project from the Odd Future collective, lead singer Syd Tha Kyd has become an artist in her own right with the help of her five other band members. Their album Ego Death, which was released last year, was recorded primarily in Syd's basement over a three week period. The stand out track for me is Girl which features production from Kaytranada with further production coming from Tyler, The Creator and Daniel Marley on other tracks.

Another act I saw back in 2012 was The Vaccines, following the release of their album What Did You Expect From The Vaccines? A memory that will stick with me forever was seeing a guy crowdsurfing in a wetsuit whilst they played their track wetsuit. Brilliant. The guys return this year with a further two albums added to their back catalogue and it's definitely a set that won't want to be missed!

Finally the act I'll be most gutted about missing: A$AP Rocky. Rocky is someone I've been listening to non stop for the last five years since he released his debut mixtape Live. Love. A$AP, and everything he's released since has been absolute gold. His further two releases Long. Live. A$AP and At. Long. Last. A$AP have shot him to the top of the rap game and his last album has features from the likes of Kanye West, Schoolboy Q, Juicy J and even Rod Stewart. My personal favourite from the album is Jukebox Joints with Kanye and it's slowing creeping to the top of my most played songs on iTunes. He also played the festival in 2013 and played classics such as Wild For The Night, Purple Swag and Peso. Even writing this is making feel sad I won't be seeing Flacko this year!

Other notable artists at this years festival include Nas, Boy Better Know, The Temper Trap, Yung Lean and Metro Boomin.

For all of you going this year, have fun and be safe!

Outfit Of The Day 10/07/16

Sweatshirt - Topman
Work pants - H&M (similar here)
Sneakers - Vans

It feels like a lifetime ago since my last Outfit Of The Day post so I thought I'd give you guys a small insight into what I'm wearing at the moment!

As of late I've really been feeling washed out/pale colours and it's evident in this outfit. This stone coloured sweatshirt from Topman cost me just £22 and I've not stopped wearing it since I bought it. I find neutral colours to be really interchangeable and versatile which allows me to mix and match this sweatshirt with pretty much any trousers in my wardrobe.

I picked up the work pants in the H&M sale a few months back and to be honest, I didn't really like them at the time I bought them but I knew they'd grow on me eventually. And for the price of just £7 it would have been stupid of me to have left them. Luckily I've really fallen in love with them in the past few weeks and they've made me step out of my comfort zone of skinny jeans or slim chinos.

There's not much to be said about the Vans as everybody knows that they're a staple to any males and females wardrobe. The Old Skool is such a clean silhouette and I've had so many colourways over the years but the black/white is still a personal favourite of mine. As far as I'm aware, Amazon is the cheapest place to get them at the moment so it's definitely worth having a look there if you're looking for some new kicks!
